Nanda Danitschek

Nanda was born and raised in LaPorte and is known and respected in this community as a singer and actor.  She began singing and acting as a child and now makes singing her career.  Currently Nanda is the lead singer for the rock band “Missled” and acoustic jazz duo “Indigo”, is a wedding soloist, lyricist, and records professionally with other artists either for back-ups, hooks, or by consulting on style, interpretation, and arrangement. Nanda is also involved in the community as a member of LaPorte Service League, actor for LaPorte Little Theatre and other theaters throughout Northwest Indiana, sings with the LaPorte County Symphony Chorus, and serves as a mentor to many children that may not otherwise be exposed to the arts.

Nanda studied theater at IUSB, and has trained vocally both classically and theatrically since high school and as a child. Children will remember Nanda as Rapunzel or Prince Charming from the Service League plays, but has been in several musical productions including "Camelot", "Lucky Stiff", "Wild Party", "Sound of Music", "South Pacific", "How to $", "A Little Night Music", "Into the Woods" and "Oliver". She has also performed vocally outside of the theater for many events such as the opening ceremony for the NIETF (Northwestern Indiana Excellence in Theater) Awards Gala, National Anthem singer for athletic and veteran club events, soloist for the LPC Symphony Orchestra, Hoosier Star 2006, and has won several singing competitions. Nanda also collaborated with Kelley King-Cole and the dancers of  Dance Tech Studios in May of 2007 to produce the show which was to benefit the Aliveness Project of NW Indiana, a supporting foundation of the HIV/AIDS cause.

As a master of style and interpretation vocally, Nanda offers coaching and instruction that takes the universal classical and theatrical theory, method and technique, breaks them down, and personalizes them to fit a students vocal goals, desire and voice. She offers the choice to learn to execute traditional or styles of singing to the modern styles we hear everyday, BUT teaches the classical technique needed to perform these styles long term and effectively.

School Director Kelley King Cole says,

"It isn't the number of students who move on to a professional career in dance
or the number of degrees & certificates
we have hanging on the wall
or the number of awards we have won
that will influence our legacy.
It will be the number of students who are better people because they danced through our classrooms!"
